Job Purpose:

Assure Safe, Efficient, Cost Effective and Timely Operations across all Tullow Group activities (from Exploration to Production), in support of which:

Functionally manage across the Group the Operations manpower

Resource a fit for purpose Production Operations Organisation in all Tullow Operated BU-s in consultation with the business

Ensure appropriate governance of Asset Integrity and Process Safety of all Tullow-s operated assets

Assist the BU-s in managing effectively and efficiently the Operations staff in line with Group competence standards and local content requirements

Maintain the succession planning for all Operations functional staff in line with BU requirements.

Manage and regularly review the Group Operations Management System (OMS) and ensure compliance with it

Establish operating philosophy and organisation to operate future Tullow operated developments

Champion Safety, Sustainability and Environmental Affairs (SSEA) Management in all Group Operations

Establish strategies to optimise logistics, transport and vehicle management in support of Operations

Provide Operations advice and assistance to all functions across the Tullow Group

Champion for the group standard real time production systems

Responsibilities / Key Objectives:

Ensure that all offshore producing assets operated by Tullow have a North Sea style Operations safety Case and all onshore producing assets a COMAH case. Ensure they are reviewed on a two yearly basis and kept live

Ensure appropriate asset integrity and process safety audits and reviews are carried out. -

Ensure that all Operations standards are complied with. For offshore assets ensure compliance with class

Ensure maintenance integrity and process safety is appropriately managed in new development projects: assure the implementation of the Computerized Maintenance Management- System (CMMS) as part of the C&P scope prior to EPC

Design and recruit Operations, Readiness and Assurance (OR&A) teams for new developments and ensure compliance with Group OR&A standards and guidelines

Ensure that the reporting requirements to Joint venture partners, Government and its nominated organisations are adhered to

Develop a set of KPI-s (balanced between asset integrity compliance, costs and production) for each producing asset in consultation with the asset team and monitor on a regular basis

Develop a close working relationship with technical representatives of State Oil Companies, JV partners and other key stakeholders and agencies, to keep them appraised of activities. Represent company at formal meetings in area of responsibility

Provide help and technical assistance to Tullow-s BU-s

Support growth opportunities in conjunction with corporate objectives

Person Specification

Education:

Degree in science/engineering or equivalent

Post graduate qualification/experience in Business Management advantageous

-

Skills:

Management of operations activities in the upstream oil and gas business especially complex and highly active onshore and offshore operations. This is considered essential

Good stakeholder management skills.

Familiar with large asset operations and logistics

Good working knowledge of safety case methodology, process safety and the management of technical integrity

Experience in auditing and technical safety reviews

Good working knowledge of the integrated planning process

Team leader/manager with ability to delegate and NOT micro-manage given team-s capabilities

Working with different cultures in a developing country

Track record in dealing with multi-disciplinary teams and interfaces
